Listening to Your Body
It can be easy to neglect our bodies with the demands of our fast paced, work and media filled world. We can become cut off from our feelings, sensations and physical needs. We may experience a sense of emptiness, low libido, negative body/self-image, and more.
It is important to take time to slow down and begin to listen to your body. What are you needing – more sleep, more movement, more pleasure, more self-connection, etc.? Taking the time to listen to your body and giving yourself time to breath, to move, to rest, to enjoy pleasure can greatly improve your sense of self and well-being.
Developing a sexual relationship with ourselves, rather than looking to have all our sexual needs met by someone else is an important part of listening to your body and healing body/self-image. We have found that engaging with yourself in the mirror, while initially very challenging for most of us, over time, can prove rewarding in finding and deepening your capacity for loving yourself just the way you are.
